Smeg opens new trade showroom and training facility

Italian appliance manufacturer Smeg has unveiled its new trade showroom and training facility, the Atrium, at its Abingdon headquarters.

The facility was launched at its recent ‘Nuovo Vista’ trade event, which hosted over 100 customers at its Oxford HQ.

The Magna building’s Atrium has been transformed into a 14,000sq ft showroom facility showcasing a wide range of models to trade customers and houses over 300 products.

The Atrium includes a ‘Living Kitchen’, which has been designed for hands-on learning, complete with demonstration facilities and the opportunity to work with Smeg products.

There is also a conference suite that houses 60+ people and can be used a demonstration theatre, meeting space or boardroom with a full AV system for presentations.

The new facility will be headed up by Smeg’s national training and sales support manager Clare Edwards.

She has over 10 years’ experience and aims to engage customers and bring Smeg’s products to life through a series of demonstrations and workshops.

Ms Edwards and her team will run Academy training sessions, one being general grounding and the other being more detailed and specialist training.

Smeg UK managing director Mike Giddings said: “We are thrilled to expand our Abingdon HQ at a crucial time for the brand, following the recent launch of our London Store. The showroom will aid us in presenting our products to customers and trade in the best light, based out of our very own headquarters.”
