Fiesta website provides a hub for training

The Furniture and Interiors Education, Skills and Training Alliance (Fiesta) has launched a dedicated website – www.fiestalearning.com.

It has been launched to support its mission of addressing education and training issues within the furniture and interiors industry.

The website features useful information for employers and people wishing to pursue a career in the industry, as well as case studies, the latest news from the organisation and an events section.

Fiesta was launched last year and is made up of eight organisations that represent different sectors of the furniture and interiors industry.

It aims to address the current and future skills needs by encouraging and inspiring new talent to join the industry, while ensuring that relevant training and qualifications are in place to support them.

Fiesta chairman Gary Baker said: “The new Fiesta website will be a hub for both companies within the industry that need guidance on key areas of training and individuals interested in finding out more information about the many opportunities the sector offers.

“The UK has a thriving furniture and interiors sector with 8,000+ businesses employing over 250,000 and generating £11 billion to the UK’s GDP. It is a design-led industry that contains many world-beating businesses. For the sector to continue to grow it is essential that it continues to attract the very best talent from school leavers and graduates to anyone looking for a fulfilling and varied career.”
