Plumber of the Year competition returns

The Plumber of the Year competition is returning for a fourth consecutive year.

The competition is run by bathroom giants JT, Wolseley Plumb Center and Bristan and aims to seek out the best plumbers of 2018 across the UK.

Launching in April 23, a prize fund will be awarded to the winner, with this year seeing the introduction of regional heats, which will award one plumber from six regions receiving the title for North England, South England, Midlands and West, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.

Finalists from each region with the most votes will be named UK Plumber of the Year 2018 for their respective region. The six regional winners will then go head-to-head for the overall title.

This year, the judging panel will be made up of official judging partner WaterSafe, as well as experts from JT, Bristan and Wolseley Plumb Center.

To enter plumbers need to detail one job that showed the full extent of their plumbing prowess and describe how it sets them apart from the rest.

Paul Crossley, managing director of JT, said: “We love running this competition and to watch it grow as we enter our fourth year is fantastic. With the introduction of regional heats, we hope to make it bigger than ever before. Our past winners really showcase the incredible talent we have in the UK, and we’re looking forward to not only finding deserving plumbers from six regions, but also crown our overall winner with the prestigious award.”
