Bathroom specialist Jaquar has won a Red Dot Product Design Award for its Tailwater tap collection.
The distinctive range was created by London-based design studio, Danelon Meroni for Jaquar’s luxury brand Artize, which was launched in the UK earlier this year.
“The unique design of the Tailwater collection attracted considerable attention when the Artize range was launched to the UK trade earlier this year,” said Martin Voisey, UK head of Jaquar. “It is a pleasure to see that the tap has now been recognised in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018.
“This is arguably the world’s most important award for product design, and this year attracted entries from 6,300 products from 59 countries for judging by the 39-member jury. It is a significant achievement that the Tailwater tap has been honoured.
“We engaged top designers to create the Artize range, which includes Tailwater, and the result has been products that combine design, technology and talent. These have created something really special in the market-place and have undoubtedly captured imaginations in both commercial and domestic markets.”
The judges at this year’s Red Dot Award: Product Design, said of the Tailwater tap: “Tailwater fascinates with a design idea that has been honed to the smallest detail. Its exceptionally appealing aesthetic blends in particularly well with modern bathrooms.”
Other products which were honoured with a 2018 Red Dot Award included Tag Heuer’s Connected Modular 45 Luxury Kit and the Google Home smart speaker. Each product selected by the judges was chosen for its combination of cutting-edge aesthetic, design quality and functionality.
The Jaquar Group launched its luxury Artize brand in the UK earlier this year.
