Mike Jarrett retires from BSH

Appliance giant BSH has announced the early retirement of independent kitchen sales director Mike Jarrett.

Chief executive Andreas Meier announced this week: “After nearly 33 years of incredible service to BSH, we announce the early retirement, on April 30, of one of the most well-known and respected characters within the UK kitchen industry – Mike Jarrett.”

Known throughout the industry as “Mr Neff”, Jarrett began his career with the company as area sales manager for Surrey and Sussex in June 1983 and worked his way up to sales director for the Neff brand in 1999.

More recently, he has held the position of independent kitchen sales director for the Bosch, Neff and Siemens brands. He has grown the brands substantially over the past two years, but BSH said it was his “dedication, loyalty and obvious pride in all he has achieved that will be the lasting impressions of his long career”.

Simon Jones, director BSH Kitchen Division, said: “Mike has played a major role in shaping not only Neff and BSH, but has also left an indelible mark on the wider kitchen industry – and not many are able to make that claim. Mike is a true gentleman and one of life’s ‘nice guys’. It has been an absolute pleasure working with him, and learning from him, over the past few years. I will sorely miss his dry, rapier-like sense of humour, and I wish him and Sally every possible happiness in the next phase of their life together.”

Meier added: “Mike has been an incredible ambassador to BSH. He is one of these unique colleagues who remains in everybody’s mind – even a long time after retiring. Mike’s retirement will be a much-noticed event – internally and in the wider kitchen industry – because of his outstanding knowledge, strong relationships and long-term success. Throughout my time as CEO, I have appreciated Mike because of his determination, honesty and loyalty. He has been living the Neff brand like not many others. I thank him sincerely for all he has done for BSH in a tremendous career.”

Jarrett said he wanted to “acknowledge and thank all his friends and customers throughout the industry for making his career so rewarding, memorable and enjoyable”.
