Mobalpa Islington celebrates first year with charity auction

Retailer Mobalpa Kitchens Islington is celebrating its first anniversary with a charity auction.

The public is invited to bid on kitchen appliances worth up to £800, with a donation from as little as £1 to raise money for its Essex Road neighbour, hospice charity Sue Ryder.

Edmund Thai, owner and general manager of the showroom, said: “We have enjoyed a fruitful first year in Islington as part of the Mobalpa UK franchise network. In the past 12 months, we’ve designed kitchens to suit different lifestyles, and we’re surrounded by such a welcoming community that it felt natural to celebrate by giving something back to a local charity.”

Kitchen appliances and accessories available for bidding include donations from Mobalpa, DFMK, Blanco, Sinks and Things, Marble Group, BSH Group and EQ Systems.

“We have great relationships with our suppliers and are delighted that they’re getting involved with our charity auction, offering bidders the chance to own high-end appliances from as little as £1,” Thai added.

“All money raised will go directly to the Islington Sue Ryder branch, where funds are used to provide incredible hospice and neurological care for people facing a frightening, life-changing diagnosis, so we’re encouraging people to bid as high as they can.”

Bidding will take place at the Mobalpa Islington showroom at 148-150 Essex Road, from August 29 to September 3. On September 3, visitors can join the party between 9:30am and 6pm with all-day refreshments, champagne and live demonstrations from a Siemens home economist.
