‘Improve your marketing,’ retailer urges manufacturers

Manufacturers could vastly improve their marketing, a bathroom retailer has argued.

Bathe Bathrooms general manager David Claeys said manufacturers often market products poorly and a better approach would help retailers significantly when selling them.

“They will put a vanity unit, or a shower cubicle, in a bathroom display and then rely on the showroom staff to tell the general public that the product is available in different colours or sizes,” he explained, “so people walk past items just because it’s not the size or colour they want.

“When you open a drawer, there should be something available that says ‘this is available in 10 different colours and eight different sizes’, but there isn’t. That’s a big bugbear.”
