Sept Swindon Simon Price Moores strengthens its contracts team

Moores Furniture Group has strengthened its sales team for the contract sector with the appointment of Simon Price as business development manager covering the south west of England. Price has more than13 years' experience within the kitchen industry, covering a variety of aspects from manufacturing through to sales and installations. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing Moores's customer base within the private development sector in and around the Bristol area.

Sept David Fitzgerald New starter at Tile Depot

Tile and stone retailer Tile Depot has promoted David Fitzgerald to operations director. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of both new and existing stores. The company revealed plans recently to more than double its operations to 30 tile stores by the end of 2012. Danny Steptoe, Tile Depot managing director, said: "We're extremely pleased with the progress we have made since we announced our plans back in February, with the opening of new stores while still maintaining the advancement of existing ones and developing a plan for further business growth."

Sept Amanda Castle Beko welcomes a new marketing manager

Appliance supplier Beko has announced the appointment of Amanda Castle as its new marketing manager. Castle joins the company from tile, bathroom and kitchen retailer and manufacturer Porcelanosa. Her background in interior design will be combined with her marketing experience to raise the profile of the Beko brands with retailers and consumers. Liz Richards, head of marketing at Beko, said: "We are absolutely delighted at Beko to have Amanda on board. With her vast and relevant experience, we are certain she will be able to add significant value to the team and help to drive our continued success."

Sept Andrew Lillywhite Lillywhite joins BCG

Andrew Lillywhite, the former logisitics director at Waterline, has joined rival distributor BCG as commercial and operations director. His remit will include all accountability for the commercial, operations and customer service departments with responsibility for more than 50 staff. "Joining BCG gives me a real opportunity to help deliver the next stage of the business strategy," Lillywhite said. "I've watched BCG with great interest over the past couple of years and I'm privileged to now be part of a company and team that has worked extremely hard to develop its brand, strategy and customer experience within this tough market."

Sept Udo Happe Happe happy at Alape

Udo Happe, the former joint managing director of Kaldewei UK, is the new head of export for Alape. He actually joined Alape in January but this new role was implemented in July. The move is part of Alape's ongoing plans to increase its exports beyond its current share of 42% of output. Happe is now responsible for sales of the company's entire retail and project business. Dornbracht UK's managing director Mark Booth said: "We are delighted to welcome Udo Happe to our group and are confident his support will be of great benefit to the team as a whole. His knowledge of the UK will be of added advantage to Alape's growing brand presence."
