Dobson, an experienced and qualified Consumer Scientist, has worked in both the domestic and commercial appliance business and has spent time in research and development as well as time lecturing in consumer science.

Matthew Kelly UK brassware manufacturer makes key appointments

Matthew Kelly (pictured) has joined UK brassware manufacturer Vado as its new area sales manager for the north west. Kelly has a wealth of knowledge and experience having previously enjoyed roles at RK Ceramics, Dornbracht and Villeroy & Boch. Paula Hamilton also joins the company's specifications office team, who are solely dedicated to managing projects in the UK.

Heated towel rail company Vogue has expanded its sales and marketing team with two key appointments. Steve Birch (pictured), who has 25 years experience within the heating industry, has been appointed as its national sales manager and Peter Mawtus joins the marketing department with over 20 years experience.

Brian Tyrie has joined Roman's expanding contract sales division as its new regional contracts manager for Scotland. Tyrie has good knowledge and experience of bathroom industry having held his last position as a specifications manager with a leading brassware manufacturer for 14 years.

Steve Whitehurst Craven Dunnill appoint new sales director

Steve Whitehurst is now the marketing and sales director for Craven Dunnill, the ceramic tile distributor and retailer. Whitehurst joined the company in 2007 as its marketing director and in his newly extended role he will be responsible for a variety of marketing strategies and for identifying new business opportunities for the group. He will work closely with Craven Dunnill's md Peter Howells.

BSH Customer Service, the umbrella organisation responsible for the servicing of Bosch, Neff, Siemens and Gaggenau appliances has appointed Austin Woods as contact centre trainer and quality team leader. Woods, who has been with the company since the first contact centre was set up in 2006, will be responsible for developing and improving customer service.

Norman Bustin has retired from his role as sales and marketing director for Purmo UK, famous for its compact radiator. He joined the company back in 1986, becoming Purmo's first English employee at that time. Kevin Dunn (pictured) takes over the role following a promotion from his current position as northern sales manager.

The Furnishing Trades Benevolent Association has appointed Charles Kerrigan as its new chief executive. The former RAF Squadron Leader also assumes the role of clerk designate for The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers that shares premises with the FTBA. In his last role as head of human resources support services for News International, Kerrigan held an active role on the company's charity committee helping to raise raising money for its chosen charities.

James Methven has joined Electrolux major appliances as its new product and brand director for the UK and Ireland. Methven will have overall responsibility for the product and brand marketing teams and will report directly to Electrolux's European marketing team. He will also be responsible for general marketing activities in addition to group wide strategic commercial planning. Methven brings with him over 20 years experience in the consumer goods industry.
