What do celebrities know about the products they endorse? Sophia Charalambous from Homestyle Bathrooms asks...

I love reading Tim Foley's column and this month's was no exception. He had me in fits of laughter and must have been reading my thoughts when he put pen to paper on celebrity chefs endorsing rubbish products.

It's not just celebrity chefs, it's celebrities in general, from Katie Price aka Jordan endorsing bed sheets - what does she know about bed sheets apart from rolling around in them? - to Anthea Turner's picture emblazoned over the packaging of kitchen utensils, the list is endless. 

What's worse is that consumers are led to believe that the celebrity has actually designed the product they are endorsing and are paying over the top for that. 

Little do they know that's not usually the case. Unfortunately, I think it's only going to get worse, with the celebrity culture as it is and it won't be long before we have them endorsing third-rate bathroom products masquerading as high-quality kit.

Personally, I avoid anything that is endorsed by a celebrity, with the exception of Jamie Oliver.

On my fellow Cypriot, Theo Paphitis, it's probably his obsessive attention to detail that has made him one of the UK's richest men.
