Every little helps Mark Two
04 January 2010

I appreciate Nick Hopkinson's need to find new outlets for his products and also his need to take action to protect his company and staff after the collapse of MFI and BGH.

However, he must realise that to supply Wickes and Tesco the same products he wants to supply us independents at much better terms will leave his existing customers little choice but to seek alternative products that we can sell competitively.

I have checked out Tesco prices and they are undercutting by large amounts on products by Balterley that we have on display.

Tesco is not happy just supplying, it wants to take over the country. Banking, insurance, home goods and now kitchen and bathroom installations. I for one will not be supporting Mark Two anymore. Does he think Tesco will continue with his products once it sets up its own importing arm or screw him down to unsustainable prices once it has him under its control?
