| KBB BIRMINGHAM PREVIEW: Snapshot | |
| 04 February 2010 Kevin Oakes, national sales director, Jax Bathrooms Q What is Jax Bathrooms doing at the show? A We're using the show as a platform to establish Jax as one of the bathroom industry's premier brands. The Jax stand will feature a huge variety of products including our new designer range of furniture, called Emotions and a new range of designer baths. Q Is kbb Birmingham a fresh start for the industry? A I certainly believe so. I think any companies that are still with us in June/July of this year will have been through the worst and should be in a position to take advantage of the economy emerging from recession. The show is perfectly placed to be a great platform to get new dealers and products into the market and use that gradual upturn as a positive building block. Q What products stood out for you since the last show? A Poggenpohl's kitchen with Porsche was a fantastic dual-branding exercise. You've got quality by association with that partnership, two fabulous names linked together. RAK impressed me enormously with its new product offering and Merlyn's series 10 collection. Q Which companies do you think have come out of the recession fighting? A Apart from ourselves, the stand-out company for me has to be Vitra. I spend a great deal of time in showrooms, I probably visit four or five a day, and I've seen a hell of a lot of Vitra products, which shows that they've been fighting for display space and in a recession you have to be aggressive to survive. | |
