KBB BIRMINGHAM PREVIEW: Snapshot
11 March 2010

Ian Kershaw, managing director, CDA

Q What are you doing at the kbb Birmingham Show?
A We are launching several key products, including amazing level three extractors, a glass sink and a whole range of new compact appliances. In addition, there are many improvements to our current products that we want to highlight. We will have a brand new brochure ready for everyone who visits the stand and in addition, we have something very exciting and completely new to show to everyone. It's top secret and we are keeping under wraps until the show itself!

Q Could kbb Birmingham mark a fresh start for the industry?
A In a way, yes. I think it will help to lift some of the gloom we have seen recently, and visitors will be able to see for themselves that companies willing to get close to their customers, listen to first-hand feedback and invest in the longer term, are definitely partners worth having.

Q Score your confidence in the industry's performance over the next 12 months out of 10.
A I'd give it a seven. This year should be better than last year but nothing is certain. The industry will follow consumer confidence, which will rise and fall throughout the year. This year will be better but not completely fixed.

Q How's business?
A Sales towards the end of 2009 were outstanding and sales in 2010 are so far looking good. We are fortunate that we have very loyal customers, an increasingly recognised brand, excellent products and great after-sales service that binds us to our customers.
