Jacuzzi UK has appointed Clive Minett as its newsales director.
Minett has held board level sales and marketing positions at some of the industry’s leading brands including Mira, Kohler and Ideal Standard, with responsibility for driving sales and market share growth, effective market segmentation, pricing and channel strategy, key account structure and development and successful new product strategy execution.
In his new role, Minett will be responsible for driving sales and market share growth, product marketing strategy, effective market segmentation, pricing channel strategy, key account structure development and successful new product strategy.
“With extensive experience in our industry, Clive has developed an enviable record of driving sales growth,” said David Tutton, commercial and marketing director of Jacuzzi UK. “He has been appointed to ensure that we continue to grow and build on our success with our core brands, our key ranges and our high levels of service which we are proud to offer to all of our customers.”
The appointment follows a period of cuts, upheaval and re-structure at Jacuzzi UK. Only in July the company announced it was cutting 90 people - 15% of its UK workforce - in line with its strategy of focusing on core products.
Fifty of those job losses were from manufacturing and warehousing, and the other 40 from across the company.
In an exclusive interview with kbbreview, to be published in the September issue, Jacuzzi UK’s md Mark Prince revealed the reasons behind the difficult decision to significantly reduce its workforce.
“The jobs are mostly from areas more synonymous with a company in turnaround,” he said. "We've taken a lot of cost out of the system and refocused our cost base on those things that were working really well, and we're still doing that today. That sometimes means we end up restructuring and that results in people with skills that we don't need having to leave and recruiting people with the skills we do - that's an ongoing feature of the business."
