Bathroom giant Roca has launched its annual 'Jump the Gap' design competition is association with the Barcelona Design Centre.

The competition offers designers from across the world the chance to showcase work based on innovation and design in the bathroom. 

The winner receives a €5,000 prize which will be presented at the 100% Design exhibition in 2011, as well as a targeted PR campaign that will promote the winning design along with its creator.

This year's judging panel is made up of a number of leading figures from the field of architecture and design including Ron Arad, Marcel Wanders and Javier Mariscal.

The contest is open to product or interior designers and architects professional or student. Participants must be under 35, and can register online at www.jumpthegap.net from September 23 when the competition officially opens at this years 100% Design.

Pictured is last year's winner, the 'Breathing Bathtub' from Chinese designer Li Xi. It breathes and moulds itself to the shape of the user and, as a result, uses half the normal amount of water.
