Consumer expectation

Retailer Russell Buckley says there's nothing wrong with being passionate...

I completely agree with everything you said in your blog but, as Jimmy Cricket said, "there's more".

People do expect to see these clichés on all websites, advertising, etc... We are all probably guilty of using them. It no doubt all stems from the yuppies in the Eighties, but when prospective customers see these clichés, it is like an expectation that, if you are not using them, then you cannot provide them with what they want.

Most of us are passionate about what we do. In truth, the people who enjoy what they do, whether they offer a free or paid-for service, are passionate. You know, the people who will go the extra mile to assist in you getting what you want and expect nothing in return.

I suppose you could say I am passionate, but I am passionate about my customers and how they feel about what we have done for them. But "passionate about kitchens" is in reality an advertising slogan for the majority of companies that want to entice you to buy from them. Of this, I am 110% sure.

Russell Buckley, Stuart Henry Kitchens, Wirral.
