Cosentino UK and Ireland centres celebrate successful 2011


Quartz and natural stone specialist Cosentino defied difficult market conditions in 2011 as sales in the UK and Ireland reached 18.4 million euros, a 19% increase on 2010 figures.


The projected sales figure for the UK and Ireland markets for 2012 is 21.6 million euros.


Following its success in 2011, the company has opened a new UK centre in Darlington to service North Yorkshire, Cumbria and Scotland.


Based at the Faverdale East industrial estate, this new centre in Darlington benefits from direct access to major transport links and will allow Cosentino to deliver to customers in North Yorkshire and Cumbria in just one hour and Scotland in just over three.


Cosentino has four other centres in Hook, Manchester, Gloucester and Dublin to service the rest of the UK and Ireland.


The new centre benefits from an efficient warehouse that has been designed to carry over 3,000 slabs of stock and a training facility that will be used staff training, briefings and meetings.


Set display areas within the building will showcase Cosentino product ranges for end users, architects, designers, builders and kitchen and bathroom retailers to visit.


“This new Cosentino centre with a state-of-the-art warehouse will help meet the increasing demand from consumer and commercial customers,” said general manager Philip Eeles. “Combined with high levels of customer service, the aim is to further grow awareness and desire for the innovative range of Cosentino products.”


The Cosentino Group has six factories, 15 kitchen and bathroom surface production centres in the US, more than 70 distribution points or Centres worldwide and employs over 2,200 staff globally.


From its headquarters in Almeria, Spain, the company distributes its products and brands to over 60 countries. Currently almost 80% of its turnover is generated from international markets.
