InSinkErator UK has been awarded the '2011 business leader award for outstanding performance' by parent company Emerson.

The UK division of InSinkErator, one of the world's leading food waste disposal manufacturers, received the award after it not only out-performed other European based Emerson companies but also the wider market in general with sales increases of 50% over the last two years.

The UK team was presented the award at the annual Emerson European planning conference in Monte Carlo.

We've out performed our market in the midst of the recession and we're very proud of the whole team's achievements.

"Our sales growth is particularly uplifting given our market sector has previously seen lows in excess of 15%. InSinkErator UK has benefited from a consumer desire for efficient and time saving appliances in the kitchen, both across food waste disposers and steaming hot water taps, and we have capitalised on this to sell the hygienic and convenience benefits that the products offer."

InSinkErator is part of the Emerson group, a global leader in technology and engineering. Emerson recorded sales of $24 billion (£15bn) in the 2011 fiscal year.
