The global appliance giant LG has announced it is striving for leadership in the home appliance sector.

The company revealed its 2012 business strategies for its home appliance division at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last month.

The strategy includes plans to strengthen its business foundations, so that it can achieve the top position in the home appliance category by 2014.  The company revealed it is to enhance its competitive advantage in the refrigerator and washing machine sectors and will continue to make strong investments in smart appliances. Despite the downturn, LG aims to achieve double digit sales growth in 2012.
