Ultima takes over Matchmaker after Take Two collapse |

Ultima Furniture Systems has bought the Matchmaker kitchen brand following the collapse of previous owner Take Two Kitchens.
The move comes less than two years after Take Two bought the brand from the administrators of kitchen and bathroom distributor Theobald's.
Take Two had been a cabinet manufacturer for the brand and took it over in April 2010 with promises of overhauling the range and developing the brand, but it went into liquidation just before Christmas 2011.
Family-run Ultima Furniture Systems, who had no connection to the brand or Take Two before, has now taken over the rights to manufacturer and supply the Matchmaker kitchen range. The company says it is keen to ensure continuity of the brand and will be working closely with existing door supplier Burbidge to continue producing the range.
Martin Powell, Ultima's technical development manager, told kbbreview: "We've contacted the current list of Matchmaker customers and we're in communication with them to reassure them it has found a new home.
"The Matchmaker brand will grow. We're adding a couple of other ranges into the mix and our cabinet offer far exceeds what Matchmaker had before, so there'll be an increase in availability."
Powell said there are just under 100 retailers that currently sell the Matchmaker brand.
