You wear it well

Your blog on 'Clothes Maketh the Sale', was great as it's an issue close to my heart!

I totally agree with you that there is a difference between sales people and designers, and feel this is important when deciding how to present yourself in a showroom.

I think that if you walk into a showroom and everyone in there is dressed in suits, it gives off an immediate signal that they are there to sell-sell-sell, and not to give you helpful, friendly advice.

The difference with designers is that they have a licence to be a bit more quirky, they express their creativity through fashion. All of the designers here have a design background rather than sales, and we are quite easygoing about what they wear.

As long as you are clean and well presented then I think you should wear whatever you feel comfortable with. If you are comfortable in what you wear, then you will be much more comfortable when talking to customers, and they will be much more comfortable with you.
