Alno Group up for sale

The entire Alno Group has been put up for sale.

In a statement issue by Alno AG, the group said that a mergers and acquistions consultant had been “entrusted with carrying out an investor process for the entire Alno Group”.

However, Alno UK claimed that the “structured bidding process” is a typical German ‘dual-track’ process and is required under German law.

“This would only be pursued at the end of the three-month insolvency process period, should the restructuring plan not be successful,” it said, adding: “Alno UK is confident that the sale of the group will not become necessary.”

Alno AG announced that kitchen production has now resumed at its headquarters in Pfullendorf, Germany.

Previously scheduled orders and orders that were placed around the time that Alno AG entered administration on July 12 are now being completed, with deliveries in the UK resuming next week.

The manufacturer plans to process new kitchen orders from August 28 with deliveries from September onwards.

The factory in Enger, which mainly produces Wellmann kitchens, is due to restart production next week, with deliveries in the UK starting from August 14. Wellmann is the supplier of in-toto kitchens.

Alno said the “interruption of production was necessary to secure the appropriate financing and ensure that all supply commitments could be fulfilled”.

The company received an insolvency loan on July 27, which provided the requirements needed to also resume the production of its entry-level brand Pino Küchen in Coswig, which is aiming to start production next week.

A statement from Alno UK said: “Alno UK would like to thank its business partners and customers for their continued loyalty and support during this restructuring process, and is pleased to be able to communicate positive news to its UK retail network regarding the fulfilment of outstanding orders and the planned production of new kitchens.”
