Bathstore appoints new chief executive

Bathstore has announced the appointment of Ian Herrett as its new chief executive.

Herrett had joined the retail chain from Wolseley UK where he was the UK and RoI branch director.

In his previous role, Herrett led business operations [including Plumb Center, Parts Center, Drain Center and William Wilson in Scotland], the operational business transformation programme, and the new bathroom showroom business model.

Prior to that, he worked for B&Q across operations and business development, leading the customer and efficiency rebuild of showrooms and installations.

He was also responsible for creating the TradePoint business and finally becoming the main board commercial director with responsibility for buying, merchandising, marketing, CSR and business development.

His early career was spent in Marks and Spencer with roles in stores, through to food buying, programme management and food operations.

“I’m really excited to be joining such a great brand and I am looking forward to getting to know our people, our customers and what we do over the coming weeks,” Herrett said. “I can’t wait to hear people’s views, thoughts and ideas on what help is needed to deliver better service, better engagement and better results.”

Added Bathstore chairman Geoff Battersby: “I am really looking forward to Ian joining the business and I’m confident he will be a great addition to the team. His extensive experience across bathroom retail means he’s the right person to drive the business forward at this pivotal time.”

Herrett replaces Gary Favell who has decided to step down from the position after almost six years with the firm.

“Over the past six years, Gary has overseen Bathstore’s development into the leading UK independent bathroom specialist,” Battersby said. “We would like to thank Gary for everything he has done for the business and wish him well for the future.”
