Ex-Alno UK boss Wagstaff joins Mereway

Former Alno UK chief executive Jonathon Wagstaff (pictured) has joined Mereway on a part-time consultancy basis.

He will work on a new business-to-business (B2B) project for the Birmingham-based kitchen and bathroom manufacturer.

A statement from Mereway said: “Jonathon Wagstaff, former Alno UK CEO, is working on a new B2B business project with Mereway Kitchens. The project-based role has been undertaken on a part-time consultancy basis and Jonathon will be reporting directly to the business owners, Bob and Richard Norris.

“The project will encompass a feasibility study for developing an extension to the current business strategy.”

Wagstaff announced his resignation from Alno UK back in July, just days after parent company Alno AG entered administration.

Despite departing the business, he insisted that Alno AG would survive and Alno UK would be unaffected.

However, Alno UK entered administration just a month later, with Alno AG finally closing its doors in November.

The assets and trademark rights were then taken over by financial investor RiverRock at the beginning of January this year and production for Neue Alno started shortly after. The first kitchens are expected in the first quarter of 2018.
