KBBG signs up two new suppliers

European kitchen and bathroom buying group Der Kreis has announced that two new suppliers have joined the Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG).

JTP, formerly Just Taps, and Opticolour said they decided to join the KBBG as they are both “dedicated to supporting independent specialists”.

JTP is a brassware specialist offering KBBG members 40 different ranges and next-day delivery, while Opticolour specialises in glass splashbacks, and offers nationwide delivery and an installation service.

“What separates Opticolour from some of the other companies in the market is the quality of the glass. They only use European-sourced glass,” said managing director Bill Miller (pictured). “And what really separates out JTP from other competitors is their ranges. They have 40 different ranges.”

The buying group also said it was collaborating with the Used Kitchen Exchange (UKE), which specialises in selling ex-display and second-hand kitchens and has 60,000 visits to its website every month.

Miller encouraged retailers to get on board with the UKE and urged them to consider it as another revenue stream.

“This is something I’m really excited about,” he said. “I know what a pain it is when it comes to selling off old displays. It’s an absolute nightmare. The products that are actually on display, you stand half a chance of selling them, but the minute you take it off display and you put it in the storeroom, the chances of selling it are virtually zero. This is where the Used Kitchen Exchange comes to retailers’ aid in helping you to clear your old displays.

“But they do much more than that,” added Miller. “Something even more interesting is what they can do to help your customers sell their old kitchens. This presents retailers with a unique opportunity. If your client can sell their old kitchen for a reasonable amount of money, then you could use that in your sales process to use that sum of money to offset the costs of the new kitchen. And all of a sudden, those higher-quality appliances that they thought they couldn’t afford, they now can.”

The UKE has also revealed that KBBG members will receive free photography on products they choose to list on the website as well as an exclusive flat rate of £750 plus VAT.

Miller also revealed that the KBBG was planning to add another representative to its team in the coming months to cover the North of England.

In 2016, the KBBG saw an annual turnover of £3.1 million.
