Laura Ashley sales grow by 90% in 2017

Laura Ashley Kitchen and Fitted Bedroom sales reported a 90% sales growth in 2017 and with the 2018 figure predicated to rise by a further 60%

Stewart Marshall,  Symphony Group Brand Development and Export Manager attributes this growth to the increasing number of selected UK Laura Ashley Kitchen Collection retailers (predicated to exceed 100 by the end of this year), the addition of the fitted bedroom range in 2017 and new outlets opening in Eire, Scandinavia and Iberia.

From the Kitchen Collection painted ranges like Bedale, Harwood and Helmsley continue to lead their range sales and unique Laura Ashley hero pieces like their butler’s pantry, butchers chest  and multi-drawer units continue to see strong sales growth.

The results were announced at a retail open day, held at Symphony headquarters in Barnsley, where the retailers were shown the latest Laura Ashley products, spoke to suppliers like Everhot and British Ceramic Designs, and had a cooking demonstration by chef Peter Sidwell.

Laura Ashley launched several new products, including the ash veneer Harbury range, as well as two new catalogues, one for its latest product range and new editorial brochure for consumers. This was also the first preview for retailers of the new the Rosedale butlers’ pantry.

The open day was followed by the second annual Laura Ashley kitchens and fitted bedroom award winners held at Oulton Hall, Leeds.

The winners were chosen on the showroom design and how much it reflected the Laura Ashley brand and lifestyle. The awards were so tight that two categories had joint winners.

The winners:

  • Best display – kitchens: James James and Jewson
