Omega recruits new group sales and marketing director

Omega has appointed Andrew North as its new group sales and marketing director.

He will take over the role following the planned departure of Simon Acres at the end of 2018.

Omega chief executive Simon Barber commented: “Andrew is an experienced commercial leader and strategist who has successfully operated in retail at senior board level for over 10 years in roles that required both a customer and operational focus.

“He is a passionate and energetic multichannel retailer who has vast knowledge of all aspects of retail operations, analytics and consumer behaviour.

“In a career with Ikea that spanned two decades he worked in retail store operations, customer services and management, before rising to the position of CEO in two international territories. During this time, Andrew consistently delivered growth and increased market share.

“We are delighted to welcome Andrew to Omega. His appointment will further strengthen the board, bringing an additional skill set and is another important step towards realising our ambitious retail sales growth plans for the business.”

North will assume responsibility for all aspects of marketing and retail sales including national accounts.

John Cahill continues in his role as group contract sales director.
