‘Plastic waste a huge topic,’ insists BMA

The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) is to focus on plastic waste at its AGM meeting on June 20 at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel, Kidderminster.

As in previous years, the morning is dedicated to updating full members on key topics that have a direct impact on their business.

Keele University will be presenting the plastic waste session and sharing details of its ongoing research into eradicating single-use and difficult-to-recycle plastics.

“This is a huge topic for our industry,” says BMA chief executive Yvonne Orgill (pictured). “One that impacts on all manufacturers because of the amount of packaging and protective materials their products require.

“With predictions that the amount of plastic in the world’s oceans is set to triple in a decade unless action is taken to deal with the problem, this is a challenge we all need to rise to.”

Members will also have an exclusive preview of a new industry bathroom package from a BMA affiliate member and they will be the first to hear the results from the recent consumer research undertaken by the BMA, with access to copies of the report available free to members.
