Bathroom design is a bit stale…

Indian bathroom brand Jaquar is new to the UK and is hoping to win over retailers not only with the quality of its products, but also its pledge to protect margins and a strict internet policy

Jaquar is a premium bathroom supplier with a presence in more than 45 countries across the world. Products are produced in six state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in India and one in South Korea.

Although a relatively new addition to the UK market, Jaquar is looking to expand throughout the UK and into Ireland and Europe through a network of retailers. The company has just opened a flagship showroom in Milan with one to follow in London later this year.

We asked national sales manager Darren Chisholm to tell us about Jaquar’s plans for the UK market.

He says: “Bathroom design is a bit stale at the moment – what Jaquar wants to bring to the UK market is an antidote to this. Our offering is design-led with products that will appeal across the market. Of course, price is a huge challenge, but at Jaquar we have the utmost confidence in the quality of our ranges and in our marketing and pricing structure.

“We want to show our customers that the quality of our products is second-to-none, but that they can still make a healthy margin on them. This is possible because we are selective and only deal with retailers who want to protect their margin and make a healthy profit. We have a strict internet policy, which is key to helping our retailers achieve maximum margin. I’m very confident that this philosophy will allow us to succeed in this tough period.”
