Industry Awards 2008

The Awards Explained Hints Entries Judging
Roll of Honour Finalists Winners Awards Gallery

The kbbreview Industry Awards is one of the key dates in the calendar for everyone involved in he kitchen and bathroom business...

What are the awards all about?
The Industry Awards have a long and illustrious history within the kitchen and bathroom sector. The 2008 event, which will be held in Birmingham, is the 14th time the awards have been held and they reward the best in retail design and business within the industry.

Who can enter?
The awards are open to all retailers, interior designers and architects working in the kitchen and bathroom market. They are split into two distinct disciplines - design and business. These are then divided into different categories, most of which cover kitchens and bathrooms separately. So, for example, in design we have categories for different budgets, designers under 25, and developers. The business section covers the best showrooms, customer service and the big prizes - the two Master Retailer Awards. Click here for the full breakdown of categories

How do we decide who wins?
All the awards rely on submitted entries from you the retailer or designer. We need you to pick the categories you want to enter, put your entries together and send them off as soon as you can - you can't win if you don't take a chance.
In October, our judging panels of industry experts narrow the entries down to four finalists in each category. And here's where the main difference is for the 2008 awards, previously winners were chosen from submitted entries but this year there are some major changes:

In the Showroom of the Year and Master Retailer categories all the finalists will be visited by the judges so they can see the operation for themselves before choosing a winner.

In the design categories, all the finalists will have to come to our boardroom and present their design to a panel of expert judges.

These changes, we believe, make our awards totally comprehensive, even more prestigious, and unique in the industry.

How are the winners announced?
All the finalists are invited to a glittering black tie event in March 2008 in Birmingham with nearly 1,000 guests, celebrity host, dinner and entertainment. The winners are announced with the traditional opening of an envelope.
A glossy brochure with details of all the winners comes with the March issue of kbbreview followed by profiles and editorial through the following months.

The main design winners are also given coverage in leading consumer magazine Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms.

When's the closing date?
The official closing date for 2008 entries was September 28th 2007 and the call for entries is now closed.
