DOP895B oven - De Dietrich

What KBB said: “This oven blew away the competition when it was road tested on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show and defi nitely gets KBB’s seal of approval. The A-rated oven features a tilting touch-sensitive control panel with an intelligent cooking system that shows images of what you want to cook. Intelligent humidity sensors inside the oven also continually assess the moisture of food as it cooks for optimum results. The model also offers Pyro-Turbo and PyroControl Plus cleaning amongst numerous other features.”

Bespoke backsplash creations - Mowlem & Co

What KBB said: “Mowlem & Co prides itself on bespoke kitchen creations and while KBB has long loved its tailored cabinetry designs, it’s the imaginative use of materials and texture for its complementary splashbacks that ultimately got our vote. Beyond beautiful is its gold-leaf mirror splashback that offers a distressed antique look, while its textured glass in vibrant colours will satisfy the whims of contemporary design lovers everywhere.”

Bespoke kitchen collection - Metris

What KBB said: “Comprising six spectacular signature looks, the Metris collection offers a distinctive range of fronts, surfaces, textures and colours so that each customer can create their own design statement. However, it was the attention to design detail that caught KBB’s imagination. Wave Curve (shown above) is just one example, and was inspired by the ripples left on the sand by retreating waves, creating a soft, fl owing, organic shape. Seamless, Geometric, Peninsular Curve, Rich Mix and Fitted Curve complete the collection.”

Freedom bathroom collection - VitrA

What KBB said: “This was a standout design for KBB when we visited Germany’s (and the world’s biggest bathroom exhibition), ISH. For this latest collaboration with VitrA, designer Ross Lovegrove has created the stunning Freedom range of WCs, bidets, basins and brassware. Conceived in pure white, the designs in Freedom more resemble fl owing pieces of sculpture than conventional sanitaryware and brassware, with contours as liquid as the water they channel. The smooth shapes are designed to promote a feeling of calm and sanctuary within the household.”

SlideAway door technology - Neff

What KBB said: “A completely unique and utterly innovative design, Neff broke the mould in 2009 with the introduction of its SlideAway door technology. The door opens conventionally but then glides back fully into a recess below the oven enabling it to disappear completely. The benefi t is that the design provides full access to the oven cavity without having to negotiate the obstacle of a door so hot dishes can be safely removed.”

SP Concept - Porcelanosa

What KBB said: “Porcelanosa added a number of stunning new products to its bathroom collection for 2009 including the SP Concept range, which got KBB’s vote when we spied it on show at an international exhibition. Featuring a sensual organic design, the range features a beautiful freestanding bath and basin, plus a choice of three shower trays and a fl oor or wall-mounted shower column.”
