Finalists - Showroom Award for Bathrooms

Back to the finalists

Bathing Design Studio

Studio says: “The aim was to create a visually outstanding showroom complete with design features but still retaining a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.”

What the judges say: “An outstanding showroom layout showing an excellent representation of the manufacturers products"

Based in Wetherby near Leeds, Bathing Design Studio has only been in existence for 18 months but in that time has built up an impressive business.
The layout of displays ensures customers can take in one setting at a time before turning the corner into another. On display over two floors are displays from suppliers such as Villeroy & Boch, Hansgrohe, Aqata, Dornbracht, Aestus and Acova.
The showroom also incorporates the ‘Wellness Lounge’, a Japanese-inspired spa where clients can try out a slection of whirlpool and spa bathing products as well as shower and steam systems in complete privacy.

Ripples Solihull

What Ripples Solihull says: “We believe that every display must be impeccably finished and be kept in pristine condition at all times if customers are to be reassured that we know to what standard their own bathrooms should be designed and finished.”

What the judges say: “A compact well laid out showroom. It maintains the Ripples standard and has a very eye catching window display.”

With a showroom measuring only 1,200sq ft, the owners of one of Ripples’ most success franchises have realised it is crucial that all available space is utilised as efficiently as possible.
During 2009 they installed concealed cupboards into the walkway columns to create vital space for samples, brochures and stationery. They have also invested in three full new displays during 2009 representing around one quarter of the total showroom.
Ripples Solihull also displays a large number of bespoke items like hand made furniture, glass, mirrors and stone.

Burge and Gunson - London

What B&G says: “In line with everything else we do, the customer’s journey through our showroom is meant to inspire. We have a large frontage and in each window we have a ‘wow factor’ display leaving customers in no doubt that they are going to see the best in bathrooms.”

What the judges say: “It’s nice to see they haven’t rested on their laurels and the new showroom elements are excellent.”

One of the most established independent bathroom retailers in London, Burge and Gunson was the 2009 Master Retailer Award for Bathrooms winner. Its showroom is large and proudly full to capacity with dozens of displays. Earlier this year it renovated the Villeroy & Boch part of the showroom with new layout, design, tiling and working displays representing a £140,000 investment.

The Yard, Belfast

What The Yard says: “We have integrated room sets and specific designs with dramatic pieces to enhance the individuality demanded by our designers.”

What the judges say: “Very professional and a very comprehensive range of products. An outstanding, stimulating and thought provoking showroom.”

The Yard describes its large and varied showroom as a “luxurious platform” for innovative products and it is designed to ensure that visitors cannot see all the displays without a complete journey through the store. Wall heights are chosen to give a flavour of what might be on display. The raised area for working displays is ramped for wheelchair access and the gallery lighting gives a specialised atmosphere.
