PROJECT COST: £38,329

The brief:

Donna’s clients wanted a minimaliststyle kitchen that would be functional, easy to clean and spacious. As the hub of the home, the kitchen had to cater for a large family on a day-to-day basis as well as a lot of entertaining, illustrated by their request for a boiling water tap, ice maker and coffee machine. The client expressed a strong dislike for clutter and unorganised spaces and were insistent that the kitchen should look clean and minimalist but not ‘like a laboratory’. The client requested an interior with a combination of contrasting brown and white finishes.

PROJECT COST: £24,887

The brief:

The client requested a kitchen space that would be easy to use and include plenty of storage but one that would also look great. The kitchen design needed to fit in with the revised layout of the house - an avant-garde 1950s property that had been completely gutted and renovated to create a light, open and airy family home. Due to the central placement of the kitchen, the clients wanted it to act as the social hub of the entire home, and asked for a large island unit suitable for food preparation, and non-negotiable table space for informal dining and children’s activities such as painting.

PROJECT COST: £55,000

The brief:

Shelley’s clients wanted her to create a contemporary, practical, spacious and durable living area to suit a busy young family. Storage had been a real issue in the old kitchen and they wanted that rectified, but most of all the space needed to be used more efficiently. With the large conservatory at one end the room is the house’s ‘social hive’. The client specifically requested the aubergine colour scheme as they had used it in the decoration of several other rooms in the house. Shelley was asked to create a kitchen that achieved maximum impact from the moment anyone entered the room.

PROJECT COST: £23,043

The brief:

Felicity’s clients had recently added a modern extension, designed by the husband, to their traditional house. They had very particular ideas about what they wanted their kitchen to feature and how they wanted it to look. Their list of requirements included a large island with cooking facility, plenty of storage as well as preparation space and seating for four. They wanted the furniture and worktops to have smooth, clean lines but be easy to clean. The room has large floor to ceiling windows at either side of room and they wanted to be able to have views from the island out of both of these windows.
