The Logixx 7 washer dryer from Bosch features innovative condensing technology that uses air, rather than water, to dry clothes. This intelligent machine can also wash and dry a 4kg load of laundry in one go, in comparison to standard models that can wash a 5kg load but only dry a 2.5kg load. The company says that this clever technology dramatically reduces the average water consumption of 97 litres to wash and dry a 4kg load to just 51 litres, saving an average of 24,600 litres a year.

Hotpoint has created energyefficient direct flame technology, for its top-of-the-range Luce gas hobs. This clever technology uses dozens of tiny holes that allow the flame to rise vertically, reducing heat loss. Its flat design also reduces the distance between the hob and pan by up to 15mm which helps to direct the heat to the pan making sure the heat is more evenly distributed. This direct flame technology can increase energy efficiency by up to 20%, according to the company.
