Alno employees prepare for production to resume

Alno AG employees have been told to “prepare” for production to resume when the Neue Alno GmbH company is launched.

A meeting was held at 3pm on January 2 in Pfullendorf, with new managing director Andreas Sandmann confirming that the number of personnel needed to resume the business had been reached.

Employment contracts for the company will start from January 1 and will come into effect as soon as the conditions of the purchase agreement have been completed, which Sandmann claimed is to be expected in the next few days.

So far, around 320 employee contracts have been recorded.

“The future of Alno lies in the hands of the employees,” Sandmann explained. “Through their confidence in the Neue Alno and their willingness to build up the company, they create the basis for a successful restart. We are already working on measures to start operations and production. The first new Alno kitchens should be delivered in the first quarter.”

Sandmann continued: “With RiverRock, we have found a sole owner that will enable us to start debt-free and develop Neue Alno with our employees, regardless of shareholder interest.”

On December 18, insolvency administrator Prof Dr Martin Hörmann signed a purchase agreement with investment company RiverRock for the acquisition of Alno AG assets, such as land, machinery and trademark rights.

The decision to discontinue the business operations, which came into effect on November 24 last year, would be maintained until all of the conditions of the purchase agreement have been meet and the contract concluded.
