Bathroom Brands steps in after N Froy & Sons announces closure

N Froy & Sons, one of the UK’s major regional bathroom distributors, is to close early in the New Year.

James Froy, who along with brother Chris has run the family business for the last 30 years, has announced the planned closure to staff.

In a statement, James commented: “My brother and I have completed a review of our business. As a result of changing forms of competition in how products reach the marketplace, the need to renew a ten-year lease, the uncertainty caused by Brexit, and rising costs such as business rates, we have decided that we should cease trading early in 2019 whilst we are still in a good shape.

“Our largest supplier, Bathroom Brands, is supporting us to make this closure as painless as possible and presents an opportunity for all of our staff to join their organisation.”

Patrick Riley, CEO of the Bathroom Brands Group, commented: “Froy’s were our first distributor and we have always had a close friendship. When they shared their decision with us we immediately looked to find the best solution to maintain excellent supply arrangements for all their customers, for our business, and for the stakeholders in Froy’s. By taking their stock, we are in a position to open supply from our Lake View House HQ premises just 37 miles from Froy’s current base. In addition, we will create job opportunities for the employees of Froy’s.”
