BCT sees rise in demand for multi-use tiles

British Ceramic Tile (BCT) is reporting a growth in the popularity of multi-use ceramic tiles.

According to the supplier, more retailers are turning to multi-use tiles in store as a versatile all-rounder.

BCT has been attempting to challenge misconceptions that ceramic tiles are only suited to walls and porcelain tiles for floors through its ‘not just for walls’ campaign.

The company claimed that multi-use ceramic tiles offer a range of benefits to customers and retailers, and can be installed from ceiling to floor to create one continuous look.

It also said they are easy to cut and install, as well as simple to maintain.

BCT head of retail marketing and brand Jayne Adamson said: “Patterns and designs that flow from floor to ceiling have been a key trend over the past few years, with homeowners looking to create more impact with their tiles, particularly in wet rooms. What makes multi-use ceramic tiles so effective is that they are easy to install, durable and waterproof, enabling homeowners to select one design that can cover both walls and floors, making the tile buying process much simpler.

“As a brand, we’ve focused on communicating these benefits clearly to consumers and the trade, with great results. Sales of multi-use ceramics have increased and we’ve also noticed a trend for homeowners buying ceramic floor tiles for use on the walls, as evidenced by the strong sales of our feature floors collection.”
