Betta Living owner sets up four new companies

Noel Dean, the majority shareholder in Betta Living, has registered four new companies with Companies House, following the news that Betta Living had ceased trading.

The companies – My Fitted Kitchen, My Fitted Bedroom and We Fit Any Furniture – were all registered on November 11, with Noel Dean (pictured) as director and majority shareholder. My Fitted Furniture was also registered on November 14.

Betta Living was owned by Dean House Limited, which was wholly owned by Pacific Shelf 1810 Ltd, which was in turn owned by Noel Dean (77.25%), James Dean (11.5%) and Dennis Quimby (11.25%).

When asked if JJO, a major supplier to Betta Living, would be supplying Dean’s new companies, sales and marketing director John Pollitt said: “If Betta Living is reforming, we have not been advised as yet.”

A closer examination of Betta Living’s financial statement for 2014 has also revealed that Noel Dean took out a loan from Dean House Ltd of £619,454 in the year ending November 30. This was on top of an opening balance of £585,463, taking the total loan amount to £1.2 million.

Meanwhile, a Facebook support group has been set up for creditors, staff and customers affected by the administration of Betta Living. It currently has over 200 members.
