BMA calls on industry to back ONE label scheme

The Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) has urged the industry to back new proposals for a single European product label for all water-using bathroom products.

Leading European bathroom manufacturers have already pledged their support, and the ONE label scheme, which is under the guidance of the newly-formed European Bathroom Forum, would see the WELL and EWL labelling schemes brought under one banner.

A single label would also provide consumers with a recognisable, easy-to-understand label across a wide portfolio of water-using bathroom products.

In order to gain wider support for the initiative, an event will be held today at the ISH show in Frankfurt. It will include a presentation by Geberit’s head of products, piping systems, Pietro Mariotti and Roca’s corporate marketing director Carlos Velazquez.

Manufacturers and trade bodies that have pledged their support include Roca, Hansgrohe, Croydex, Geberit, the European Water Label, Franke, the BMA, and Laufen.
