Fisher and Paykel unveils new technology

New Zealand appliance brand Fisher and Paykel has marked its debut at the Eurocucina show in Milan with the introduction of a host of new product innovations.

The new additions to the brand’s portfolio, unveiled on its stand within the Technology for the Kitchen (FTK) section of Europe’s leading kitchen fair, included its integrated column fridge and freezer range and its integrated Insert range hood.

The Integrated Column Refrigerators and Freezers will be available in three size options (18in, 30in and 24in) and can be installed separately or in combinations to best suit storage needs. Fisher and Paykel said the new models “give customers a new level of food care with new variable temperature zones” within the same column.

According to the brand, its new integrated Insert range hood blends with cabinetry and can be installed in a variety of kitchen layouts and highlights its ‘Social Kitchen’ philosophy.

“The Social Kitchen is how we think about the changing nature of the kitchen and the role it plays in our lives,” said chief executive Stuart Broadhurst. “We want visitors to our stand to relax and interact with our appliances as they would in their own home.

“We’re bringing a uniquely New Zealand experience to Eurocucina FTK with hand-selected materials and signature food experiences that are symbolic of our land.

“The Fisher and Paykel design heritage and culture of curiosity continues to challenge conventional appliance design. You will see this perfectly reflected in our presence at the show.”

Added general manager, design, Mark Elmore: “[Our presence at the show] will be a chance for visitors to experience, first-hand, our obsession with product details and to hear from the makers of the products how our land and culture influences our approach to design simplicity, performance and quality.”

Connected functionality is currently being developed for the brand’s freestanding ranges, column refrigeration, DishDrawer and laundry products to enable customers to connect to their products remotely.
