KBBG calls on industry to support Kitchen Design Degree

The Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG) has urged its members to support the Foundation Degree Course in Kitchen Design through the Kitchen Education Trust.

Now in its third year, the degree course at Buckingham New University will see its first wave of graduates next summer.

The KBBG has encouraged its members and suppliers to consider whether they could help identify a potential student, offer financial support through the Kitchen Education Trust (TKET) or help raise the profile of the course.

With the cost of annual tuition around £5,000 per student, the group believes the benefit to the industry far outweighs the cost.

Bill Miller (pictured), managing director at the KBBG, said: “TKET provides the industry with a formal platform to support the degree course, both in terms of raising funds for student scholarship and highlighting the profile of the course, and offers a very exciting opportunity for all kitchen specialists to work together to help create a more knowledgeable and creative industry, and raise professional standards even higher.

“With students taught at the highest level by industry experts, while at the same time raising their own professional standards and learning practical skills, there is no doubt that graduates of the kitchen design degree at Bucks New University would benefit a kitchen retail business.”
