‘Kitchens are so expensive,’ says Ed Sheeran

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has claimed that kitchens are too expensive in a recent radio interview.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs show last Friday, Sheeran (pictured) – one of the world’s biggest selling artists and worth an estimated £50 million – was asked by presenter Kirsty Young what he likes to spend his money on since becoming so successful.

To which, he revealed that he’d recently purchased a new kitchen for his parents but found it more expensive than he was expecting.

“I bought my parents a kitchen,” he said. “Kitchens are so expensive, mate. Why are kitchens that expensive?”

He also stated that he liked spending his money on art, but doesn’t see it as an investment but purely for enjoyment.
