LDL Components completes management buyout

Led by former director Simon Ogden, the management buyout of LDL Components is now complete.

The news follows the company’s announcement last year that it planned to close its Bath office and move the entire operation to its northern premises in Hadfield, near Glossop in Derbyshire.

LDL Components was formed in 2010, when Bath-based business Lord Distribution Limited and OML Limited, located in Hadfield, merged. The move to consolidate the business and move to its Glossop HQ followed a comprehensive review of the business and was said to “reflect its commitment to consistent improvement and future development”.

As part of the restructuring, former managing director Matthew Lord has left the company to concentrate on ML Living, a new company formed to continue the exclusive distribution of Wesco Housewares in the UK. Prior to the founding of LDL Components in 2010, Lord was the founder and managing director of Lord Distribution Ltd.

Speaking about the completion of the MBO, Ogden (pictured) said: “We have been able to double the size of our new headquarters with new office suites to accommodate those departments previously located at our Bath office. With a strong management team now in place, we are investing heavily in the future and will unveil exciting new developments shortly.

“LDL already has a tremendous reputation for service and innovation and we intend to build on that. Having everything under one roof can only benefit both the company and its many customers.”
