Gernot Mang (pictured) will take on the role of managing director for global sales and marketing with German kitchen supplier Poggenpohl from June 5.
He will assume responsibility for all activities in the field of sales, marketing and product management, and is said to have extensive international sales experience with luxury products in United States and Latin America.
During the past four years, he has “turned round the fortunes” of traditional German eyewear brand Rodenstock.
“Gernot is very familiar with all marketing instruments and is experienced in international markets,” explained Stefan Weiss, board member of Adcuram Group, which owns Poggenpohl. “Together with [co-MD] Thomas Kredatus, we now have an outstanding leadership team that will steer Poggenpohl’s future and create lasting value.”
Added Kredatus, “Gernot Mang was our top candidate – I am very delighted to have him as my colleague, especially with his strong experience in managing international brands. Now we can execute all the changes we have globally initiated already in 2017 with double power.”
Commented Mang: “I am very passionate about companies with heritage and legacy. Poggenpohl has an incredibly strong brand, and it is our task to write the next chapter of its successful history, which dates back over 125 years. I am looking forward to working together with Thomas Kredatus to continue along the path he has started successfully.”
Poggenpohl opened its newly-renovated flagship store in Milan during the last month’s Eurocucina trade fair.
