Regal Kitchens and Häfele host student design event

A Chelmsford kitchen studio teamed up with German furniture fittings specialist Häfele and storage solutions firm Vauth Sagel to host a kitchen design workshop for Southend University interior design students in October.

The event at Regal Kitchens was held to give the students, who had recently begun a three-year interior design course, an insight into kitchen design and to help them decide whether to specialise in the field.

Experts from Häfele and Vauth Sagel attended and gave talks about the importance of maximising kitchen space and the space-saving solutions available when designing a new kitchen.

The students were challenged to design a kitchen incorporating storage solutions and presented their completed designs to the experts for feedback at the end of the day.

Matt Lissaman, regional sales manager (London) at Häfele UK, said: “I really enjoyed meeting the students and talking to them about the different aspects of kitchen design.

“Coming down to the studio allowed them to experience a range of different products first hand and explore how they can be incorporated into the kitchen. Their enthusiasm and ideas were truly refreshing.”

He added: “Not only was it an interactive, informative experience for the students, it was also great to work alongside both our studio partner and one of our trusted suppliers to give back to the local community.”

Emma Mcloughlin, business development manager at Regal Kitchens, said: “We try and organise an event every six months for the students to learn about kitchen design.

“Having talks from Häfele and Vauth Sagel was a great way to demonstrate to the students the supply chain involved here at Regal Kitchens.”
