Tile Mountain sees turnover more than double

Stoke-on-Trent-based online tile retailer Tile Mountain has reported a 60% year-on-year increase in turnover in its end-of-year results for 2015.

Only in its second full year of trading, it saw sales in excess of £7 million. Tile Mountain has claimed this has made it “the fastest growing online tile retailer”.

With over 3,000 transactions per week, the company attributes its success to an extensive product offering at competitive prices, large stocks and quick delivery.

Earlier this year, the retailer revealed it was investing £10m in a new purpose-built 115,000sq ft facility, comprising of a warehouse, office block and showroom, which will be completed in 2017.

The investment will also help to create over 70 jobs in the next three years.

Chairman Mo Iqbal said: “We are proud of what Tile Mountain has achieved over the past couple of years. The company has become a credible alternative for customers purchasing tiles and related products. Our investment in a new purpose-built distribution centre will enable us to expand our business model much more aggressively in the future and help trigger a regeneration of unused land along the Brownhill’s Road in Stoke-on-Trent.”
