Glen Dimplex Consumer Appliances chief executive Andy Griffiths is to leave the business at the end of June after just over 18 months in the role.

In a statement issued to the company, which is part of the Glen Dimplex Group, Fergal Naughton, chief executive of Glen Dimplex, told staff: “I wish to announce that Andy Griffiths is retiring from the position of CEO Glen Dimplex Consumer Appliances, effective June 30 2018.

“During Andy’s tenure as CEO, he has focused upon building a strong senior management team, making a number of key appointments across the business unit, and has played a key role in developing strategies for the Group’s consumer appliances business.”

He added: “A search has commenced for Andy’s successor and he has agreed to support me on an interim basis over the coming months to assist me with a transition.

“On behalf of Glen Dimplex, I would like to thank Andy for his contribution, and wish him a very happy retirement.”

Griffiths joined GDCA  – a division of the Glen Dimplex Group – in October 2016 as chief executive.
