BiKBBI advisory board member Vince Linnane passes away

Vince Linnane, advisory board member of The British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation (BiKBBI), has passed away. The BiKBBI shared the news of his passing on December 28, 2021.

Linnane joined the BiKBBI Advisory Board in March 2016. His two foremost passions in the industry were for apprentices and trying to help protect consumer-tradespeople transactions.

Linnane contributed significantly to the BiKBBI’s strategic development, like the Apprenticeship programme and the various initiatives introduced to protect consumer-tradespeople transactions.

As a highly respected City of London insurance specialist and director at Chimera Insurance, Linnane was a committed industry man. He was involved with two industry charities as treasurer for The Furniture Makers Company and as a non-executive director for The Dispute Resolution Ombudsman.

Damian Walters, BiKBBI CEO, said: “Not only have we lost a dear friend and colleague, but the industry has lost a larger than life character. Vince was quite possibly one of the most genuine gentlemen I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and he was committed to the industry and the protection of others.”

“I’m truly devastated at the news as I know many of his industry friends and colleagues are. He was always the first to commit and unusually the last to leave. He leaves so many of us with fond memories and a legacy in his achievements, especially with our organisation. Vince will be missed by us all. We have lost one of life’s true gents.”

Those who wish to donate to a charity in memory of Linnane can do so via The Furniture Makers’ Company industry charity website.
