Deadline approaches for kbb Birmingham Innovation Awards

Kbb Birmingham 2016 promises to host some of the most advanced products, methods, processes and ideas yet, as exhibitors continue to submit their entries for this year’s Innovation Awards, in partnership with Blum.

The Innovation Awards seek to discover new and interesting solutions that push the market forward in the kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms industry, playing a crucial role to this year’s theme of future. Entries close on Friday, February 5, 2016 for all exhibitors, with judging followed shortly after this.

This year’s esteemed panel of judges includes five leading industry figures, who together will reward creative thinking to ten Innovation Award winners. The winners will be announced prior to the show, all of whom will be provided with an award to display on their stands throughout the show. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in an innovation trail and cast an innovative eye on the ten winning products, by voting for the people’s choice award, via the kbb show app, sponsored by ArtiCAD.

The Innovation award judges include Jon Johnston, Sales Director of kbb Birmingham; David Sanders, Director at Blum, an international company that specialises in the production of functional furniture fittings; Ruth Bell, Editor of Kitchens Bedrooms Bathrooms magazine, the monthly consumer magazine for the kbb industry; Renee Mascari, CEO of KBB National Training Group, whose aim is to develop education and training for the KBB sector and Hayley Tarrington-Robson, Owner and Creative Director of Day True Architectural Interiors, who work with the finest products and materials to create inspirational environments with integrity and passion.

The award itself has also been created with an innovative flair, as Blum apprentices have competed to design the award. The chosen apprentice will win an all-expenses trip to kbb Birmingham from Austria, which takes place on March 6-9, 2016.

Jon Johnston, Director of kbb Birmingham said: “This year will host the largest kbb Birmingham show since 2008 and we will therefore showcase more innovative ideas than ever before. We’re glad to be working alongside brands such as Blum to celebrate forward-thinking and creative success.”
