Grohe sponsors virtual World Architecture Festival

Grohe has announced that it is sponsoring the World Architecture Festival (WAF) Virtual, which runs from today (November 30) until December 4.

The online fair is intended to bring together architects and design professionals with live content, special prizes, talks, panel discussions and networking events.

This will be the 12th year in a row that the complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings brand has sponsored WAF, but this year’s event will be a virtual one with new formats and features, all focusing on a main topic of ‘Living with Pandemics’.

Grohe experts will take part in the panel discussions on prefabricated housing, touchless products and 3D technology.

Speakers will include Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang, Sir David Adjaye of Adjaye Associates and Ben Van Berkel of UNStudio, as well as Sir Peter Cook.

Grohe will also announce the winner of its Water Research Prize on December 2. The prize recognises initiatives that investigate the architectural implications of water in buildings or the built environment.

Said Stefan Schmied, vice-president global projects at Grohe AG: “Being the founding member of the World Architecture Festival and supporting it for the past 12 years, we are delighted to see that WAF has developed into a must-attend event for the global architecture community.

“We look forward to participating in the virtual transformation of the festival and discussing the challenge for hotel designers to ensure safe distancing in hospitality and also how designers and manufacturers can realise the possibilities of digital design and construction to create buildings focused on health and well-being.”

Paul Flowers, leader at Grohe parent company Lixil Global Design, added: “It is more important than ever for designers and architects to share ideas and collaborate. Grohe is immensely proud to support WAF for the 12th year and its first virtual festival to engage in these discussions and foster professional exchange. Only together can we make impactful change on the holistic experiences we create.”
